First get your tanks, BPA free are great. I got mine here:
They are spendy, but high quality at $25 ea.
The platinum coated titanium anodes are very important,
I thought I was getting mine from Israel, but they were drop shipped from China.
They arrived in perfect shape and look really nice for only $14 ea.
The power supply on mine is an old 19 volt laptop charger that I cut off the DC end and adapted with some alligator clips for easy fastening to the electrodes.
The fitting to connect the tanks together is a simple 1-1/2 in. PVC DWV Hub x SJ Trap Adapter that is easily found at any hardware store, or here
You will also need three 1-5/8 ID x 1/8 in. o-rings to seal all sides and in between.
Worth the $10 to get a good natural filter!
You will end up tying this into a ball with a piece of cotton cloth that will
fit perfectly snug into the fitting.
The Tri-Salts are your electrolytes to help the process along. This unique buffering agent contains
nutritionally significant amounts of the essential macrominerals
calcium, magnesium and potassium as carbonates and bicarbonates without
sodium or other salt, you will see why this is important later.
A necessary ingredient in your project. More info here, http://www.ohana-health.com/ts_about.asp
Although this Express Water RO5DX 5 Stage Home Drinking Reverse Osmosis System plus Extra Full Set- 4 Water Filter is not essential to the project, it is HIGHLY recommended! This unit strips our heavily mineralized well water to as little as 25 PPM, from where it was at 189 PPM direct from the tap. It is important to start with good water to make better water!
At only $169 delivered to your door and super easy installation, we are loving this unit already!

Very important for checking water going in and water coming out from both sides of the tank.

The PH Meter is important for accurately checking your alkaline water level coming out,
as well as seeing what the level is going in to the tanks.
Also seeing the acidic side of the tank PH levels is very interesting too.
A little more expensive at $15, but a good tool to have.
